Que lo que reyes y reinas!!
It was a great week. I think it almost always is. It was sooo good!! How was your week? I hope you are doing so fantastic!! I hope you’re enjoying summer and making the best of the good ol’ days. Make every day count!
Anyways, it was a great week. I’ll try to keep this a little quicker this week! We will see how that goes.
🌮
– We went on a run a couple days, a Strava screenshot is included at the end haha! A couple days we ran to a gym-park thing, I’ll have to take a picture of it this week! It’s felt good to actually start getting any cardio in life, my companion is super motivated and its been so good! So hopefully I don’t pass away the next time I get on a bike. Running will become more frequent to make that happen.
– My comp got here sick, so unfortunately I got sick these week too. We kept on working though, nothing some Coca con limón and cheap Mexican medicine can’t fix. Been feeling great since yesterday and even better today, so thats a huge win!!
– The weather app said it wasn’t going to rain both days that we got absolutely dumped on. Streets flooded and it was crazy! Rainy season is most deeefinitely back.
– Mexico won their first gameee and we were sitting in a Casa de Toño watching the second half. It was epic when Mexico scored the second goal and the whole restaurant stood up and cheered. Never enjoyed soccer so much in my life and never felt so proud to be a chilango de cepa.
– On Tuesday we had District Leader Training and the messages from the Bradys and from the APs were so so good. They taught the importance of being spiritual leaders, not just the importance of being examples of being diligent and achieving goals. It was super good and super inspired, I am always learning more!
– We’ve been finding lots of little andadores (alleyways?) to work this week and we’ve seen some real miracles!! We had two new friends come to church this week and they looooved it!! They are super interested in baptism too so we are going to help them get there soon! Super exciting stuff!
– We found two coconuts along the train tracks after the weekly Friday tianguis, and we opened them like a couple of changos. I was not willing to drink agua de coco podrido but my companion did both times and hasn’t gotten sick yet so that’s good!!
– On Thursday we talked about becoming lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ! We especially focused on the importance of having a spiritual experience with the Lord every day and forming a foundation in Jesus Christ! More to follow in shortly…
Yeah!! That was about it for the week. It was a great week with lots of miracles and even more joy. I love being a missionary and I love seeing people change their lives through Jesus Christ!! It is such a blessing to be part of this amazing work!
📚
Two things I studied this week touch on an idea that I love and that I shared in District Council. Here comes the first, what the Lord tells the people after He finishes teaching them for the day:
“Therefore, go ye unto your homes, and ponder upon the things which I have said, and ask of the Father, in my name, that ye may understand, and prepare your minds for the morrow, and I come unto you again.”
There it is!! The Lord teaches the importance of having an experience with Him today, and again tomorrow. We should be preparing ourselves beforehand to withstand temptation, magnify our covenants, and increase our conversion and dedication to our Savior.
Which is another reason I loved studying a talk called Tomorrow The Lord Will Do Wonders Among You by Jeffrey R. Holland. One of my all-time favorites. You need to go listen to it! Here’s a part that I love:
“Please remember tomorrow, and all the days after that, that the Lord blesses those who want to improve.”
Today’s spiritual experiences with the Lord are crucial for converting ourselves to the Lord today. Are we ready to keep converting ourselves tomorrow? Is our conversion based on a few, life-changing experiences stretched out over years, or is it set down solid because we have those same experiences every day?
Remember, after the Lord invites you to know Him, blesses and heals you, and brings you good tidings of peace today, He wants you to prepare and come back ready for tomorrow. He wants to have an experience with you every day, no matter the circumstance. You will resist temptation, put Christ first, and find joy as you do so. Do not let a day go by without having an experience with your Savior!
So, if you haven’t had an experience with the Lord today, go have one. Make Him your priority. And prepare yourself to do the same tomorrow, and every day after that! Try to improve. Turn your life over to God, and you’ll find it again. Turn your life over to Him today, and do it again tomorrow.
And yeah! I love you so much. I hope you feel and know that I pray for you. I hope you know that your Savior is reaching out to help you!
Make it a great week for me. Go find joy in focusing on Jesus Christ. Go change lives! Go make other people know of your love!!
I love you! Talk soon!
