Que tal pachucos!
I forgot to tell you last week that today was the day we moved our pday to Tuesday to go to the temple, so happy Tuesday and happy pday!
I hope you’ve had a fantaaaastic week thinking on and meditating about all the great stuff you learned in General Conference!! Which talk stuck out to you the most? What was the one-liner that most hit home? Tell me all about it!
Anyways, it was a great week and I am still shocked that this was my last General Conference as a missionary! It was a great week!
🇲🇽
– Well, we went to the temple today with the Bradys and it was amazing. The Spirit was so strong and I received a lot of revelation and guidance and I am so excited and grateful! The temple is such a refuge and I truly learn something new every time. I am so grateful to be so close to a temple! The Bradys took us to Johnny Rockets afterwards so already its been a fantastic pday and a great start to a great week!
– After a great, different, and inspired MLC on Tuesday, we had interviews the rest of the week! So, we got to do tons of practices with the missionaries and learn from them again! After MLC we went on exchanges with Elder Pollard and Westerby and it was super spiritual and went so well. I loved it, and loved the tacos at the end! On Friday I learned a ton from President in my interview and learned more about myself as I answered his questions and shared some experiences. It was amazing!
– At interviews one day, an excited Elder from Oaxaca showed up with masking tape all over his nose. He took like three strips horizontally across his nose and then took another strip, ripped in half, and had them pulling his nostrils up, running vertically from up the front of his schnoz. One of the best things I’ve ever seen. As soon as President walked out of his office and saw him, he made a face and said “Elder! Que le pasó a su cara?” I burst out laughing when he said it was to “hold” his nose in place since he broke it (he didn’t) playing basketball, and he had to do that since the doctor wouldn’t let him go to the right doctor (she let him, but they said it wasnt broken). Anyways, President told him that when he broke his nose, they put no cast on, especially not any tan masking tape, and that they told him simply to not touch it. The reaction on the Elder’s face made it seem like he thought his nose was going to blow off is face if a gust of wind came while he was without his masking tape. He left the mission home with no masking tape remedies. One of the best experiences of my week.
– Went on some exchanges with Arbolillo and I had a great time with Elder Zazueta. He is so fun and such a good missionary and we had a great couple of hours. On Friday, we went to walk around a Sisters area on Presidents request to see if there were any dangerous parts and how we could split the area up to fit another companionship. It was very safe and its an easy ward to split, so, success!
– To celebrate the end of interview this transfer and the start of some very hectic transfer meetings, President and Sister Brady took us and the Secretaries out to eat at Sanborns! It was a longgg wait but President was glad we got to watch NBA game highlights the whole time we waited. The food was delish and the company was even better.

Ooooh man this week I sure got lucky. I just barely hit the Alma chapters where he gives basically his final advice to his sons, and I don’t if there is much stuff as good as that in the Book of Mormon. The revelation was constant and the Spirit was there. Go read it!
So, I’m going to mix a couple verses from Alma 34 with some from Alma 36. Some great stuff from Alma and Amulek to the Zoramites and some from Alma to his sons!
“Yea, let your hearts be full, drawn out in prayer unto him continually for your welfare, and also for the welfare of those who are around you.
But that ye have patience, and bear with those afflictions, with a firm hope that ye shall one day rest from all your afflictions.
I do know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day.”
Mannnn do I love that so much. I have been trying lately to say more consistent quiet, quick prayers of gratitude and prayers for help and it has really changed my perspective about that idea of ‘keeping my heart full in continual prayer’.
I testify alongside Alma that everyone who puts their trust in God and gives their hearts fully to Him will be supported, will be strengthened, and eventually receive rest. Whether or not that comes in our timing, I love that last verse that says we will be supported in our trials. We will be supported during our afflictions.
I am a witness (too many times over to count) that God loves His children, that He listens to and answers our prayers, and that He will support the faithful in their trials and promises rest, whether relief comes now in life or in the life to come. Those who suffer with patience, hope, and trust will be supported now and lifted up to dwell with God in the last day.
I am so grateful for the merciful, loving, and powerful Heavenly Father that loves and invites all of His children (all of us!) to patiently trusting His plan as He refines us into the most perfect and holy versions of ourselves that we can be. I love Him so much and I am so thankful for His Son who made all things possible.
I love you too! I hope you’ve had a great week and your next week is even better. Go be good and go do good. Trust in the Lord and spread hope throughout the hearts of those you love!
Talk soon mi buen
