Mayan blood

Hi hi!

How’s it going! Hope everyone has had a great week once again and that everything is going great! Not too adventurous of a week over here, but here we go!
✨Weekly Highlights
– On Wednesday night, we got a call from the bishop who wanted us to come with him and some of the young men to go hand out old Church stuff at a mall, like magazines like the Liahona and Come Follow Me, stuff like that from the last few years that he just had left over sitting in his office. People were shockingly willing to take free random books and stuff in the mall, and the young men were going at it so we really didn’t have to do much besides talk to the people that were interested and right down our phone number in all the books and magazines. Actually a pretty cool activity, but we did get kicked out of the mall, but not before we got rid of most of the stuff. Ended up working out surprisingly well!
– We got fed scrambled eggs and cactus while an old man rambled on and on about his political opinions, and accused Elder Ortega of being an american nationalist until he found out that E. Ortega is Mexican. He told him to stand up and shout in honor of his Mayan blood (although he’s mostly Spanish) . It was an eventful lunch and he made me laugh
– On Friday our Zone Conference changed to Mission Conference, which was super cool because I got to see all the missionaries and we took a mission-wide picture woo! The messages were awesome and the tacos were tasty, but there are so many good missionaries going home at the end of this transfer and it was sad to listen to them share their last testimonies in front of the whole mission, I’ll miss so many of themmm 🙁
– We ate lunch yesterday with an awesome family, and they were super proud of the view from their roof, so they took us up there and showed us around. It was a pretty sweet roof, I must admit, and when we went back downstairs all of their kids had shown up so we ate lunch in a one room house with 13 other people and mannn, it was so hectic but also so much fun, what a fun family!
– Lots of dogs now come up to us and just walk with us for a little bit, they are so cuuuute and it’s funny to see them just follow us around, I like dogs
That’s about it! Betty didn’t make it to baptism this week which was really sad, but she is so good! She, and a bunch more of our friends, can totally make it! We will keep on working, I’m excited to see what happens!
📖 Spiritual Thoughts

I’m marking up a fresh English Book of Mormon, and right now I’m just kind of hoping between some of my favorite chapters and doing a deep dive into what they talk about! I read a lot in 2nd Nephi, which is probably my favorite book, and the later chapters are just so good!! Here’s some stuff that stuck out to me:

I love 2nd Nephi 26, which talks a lot about the restoration of the Gospel, the gathering of Israel (God’s children) and especially, His love for everyone! At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how you look, how you act, how smart you are, how fast you can run or how many bad (or good) things you think you’ve done, you are always loved by God.

Of course, He has a plan for us and wants us to reach our potential, which is eternal, and as He is! He wants us to inherit what He has. If we choose to walk away from that, that’s okay, He still loves us and will always love us, and He will and does do anything He can to bring us back to Him. Here are some scriptures I read in 2nd Nephi 26 to show that:

“He doeth not anything save it be for the benefit of the world; for He loveth the world, even that He layeth down His own life that he may draw all men unto him. Wherefore, He commandeth none that they shall not partake of His salvation.

Behold, hath the Lord commanded any that they should not partake of his goodness? Behold I say unto you, Nay; but all men are privileged the one like unto the other.
He inviteth them all to come unto Him and partake of his goodness; black and white, bond and free, male and female; all are alike unto God.”

I love those scriptures so much, they have been some favorites for years! I love the saying (Sorry, I don’t know who to credit this to) that God is in constant pursuit of you. He loves us so much, and He loves us individually, and He loves us all. He has such a good plan laid out for us to get all of us home, no matter how inadequate or sub-par we feel. God is no respecter of persons, how we look or the language we speak or the hobbies we have will never, and could never, change His infinite and perfect love for us!!

I promise you can feel that love as you study His word in the scriptures. Answers are there, literally waiting for you. Your Heavenly Father knows, hears, and loves you, and wants to (and will!) bless you as you make your will aligned with His! Search out His will and plan for you in the scriptures, and I promise you will feel increased love, direction, and power in your life. He will bless you!

Hey, I love you all too! I hope you have a fantastic week, that you find joy and that you can feel your Heavenly Father’s individual love for you as you study His words! They are written for our day! Anyways, go make it a great week, go have some fun, go kill it out there. I miss you all and I love you all so much, don’t forget it either!

Aquí nos vemos pronto mi familia!

I love you!
