Someone Is Stealing The Pamphlets

Hi hi!

How is everybody doing? I hope everything is going well and that you all had a great week! This week was another good one so I guess I’ll jump into it
✨Weekly Highlights
– There’s a super cute little puppy that must live somewhere close to our apartment, because every morning when we leave to go run or exercise he is outside waiting for us! His name is Bingo and he is so dang cute, I love that little dog and he makes me smile when I see him every morning. Picture attached
– We ended up kind of aimlessly wandering around one day just talking to people in the street, when a mom and son came up to us and asked to talk! She told us she had been less active for 8 years but really wanted to come back but wasn’t sure which ward to go to (boundaries changed). She also has been talking to her son a ton about baptism and trying to get in contact with the missionaries and we just happened to find them!! Absolutely the hand of the Lord leading us and them and putting us in eachothers paths. I’m so excited for them! Miracles are so real
– Earlier in the week I went on divisions with Elder Quintero to his area, and they have some awesome friends in teaching that took us on a ride back to our house in a fully restored Volkswagen Golf MK2 Cabriolet. That is like the dream car and it was so fun
– Everyone here on the streets has started selling gummy candy and they just looked so dang good that one day I decided I had to try them. Little did I know I could get 100 grams of peach rings for only 50 cents!! Best deal of all time, keep my bag loaded up
– March 8th was international women’s day, and it was kind of crazy in our area since it is like the downtown downtown of the city. They closed off all of the major roads for the marches and stuff they were doing and it was crazy! Fireworks, purple smoke bombs, maybe some damage to public property…we asked Luisa about it and she was like “ohhh no no I never go to stuff like that, it just makes me sweaty and tired and everyone gets all worked up over nothing, so I’ll stay home and make some tamales instead” and I thought that was pretty iconic of her, tamale taste test was delicious
– Our friends Israel, Claudia, and Regina all have baptismal dates for the 23 of March! And we moved Betty’s baptismal date to this upcoming sunday. Please pray extra hard for each of them, they are sooo good and such miracles for us! God is moving his work along!
– Sometimes I wish I was making this stories up…this week we had a super high Venezuelan dude come up to us and ask us what we are doing, then showed us where he had written “Christ lives” all over his arms. He started talking to us only to interrupt himself and yell “Christ lives!!” at random people as they walked by. I looked down and he had to clear plastic bags on his feet, one with 3 limes in it. Anyways, we were ready to get out of there so we gave him a little pamphlet and I looked up and he had stuck it down his pants while my compa was writing something down in our phone, then buddy turns to him and says “somebody robbed me! Can I have another one?” So he have him another one and he stuck that one down his pants too. Funny guy, sad to see how much people lose themselves though
Alright well it was a pretty normal week, nothing too crazy happened (I feel like I’ve hit a Jared West writers block, but at least he overcame it) and not too much news. I am super excited for this upcoming week though! And of course…
📖 Spiritual Thought
This week I hopped around a lot reading some favorite chapters and verses in the Book of Mormon, and since I am low on time I’ll share something a little shorter today, from Moroni 7, last verse
“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure.”
I really love that verse. Man, sometimes life is hard, sad, and frustrating, but when we turn to our Heavenly Father in prayer we will be filled with His love! The more we feel His love and share His love, the more we become like Him. And we can become like Him and become pure, full of love, and spend eternity with Him and all those we love.
What a great promise that comes from truly just simple acts. Pray, and you will feel His love. Pray constantly and earnestly, and you’ll feel his love even stronger! Such a great promise. Make your heart a constant prayer to God and His love will fill your life more fully!
Alright, that about wraps up my week and my email for this week! I hope everyone has a great upcoming week and that you all remember how much I love you! Go make it a great week and remember to have your heart always in prayer to you Heavenly Father!
Talk soon, I love you!
