Que pex mis fregones!
What a great week! What a great time to be alive. How are ya? What brought you joy this week? What’s been going on?
I hope you are doing so well! This past week was actually rather uneventful but went really well. Just a classic week of some good hard work. Tell me about life, I’ll tell you about my week!

– We went out and worked with Elder Tlapale, a service missionary from our ward on Tuesday and it went super well! We were super impressed with his ability to connect with people and we saw lots of miracles!! He’s super talkative and it was a lot of fun to get to know him better. Twas a great day!
– We had transfers!! Elder Pugh got sent to the other side of the mission, which means I’ll be finishing my mission with Elder Ruiz!! He’s a legend from Chiapas and we are already working so hard and seeing a ton of miracles. We found some super elect people in some totally ‘random’ circumstances and I am so grateful for his love for the people and diligence! It’s going to be a great transfer!
– We finally got another District Leader in the Zone which means I don’t have to do 5 calls every night, which has been a huge blessing since I get more sleep haha! It’s going to be such a good transfer!
– Started MyPlan last Tuesday which was crazy and kind of mildly depressing. But it was good! Its a super spiritual program and has helped me reflect a lot on lessons I’ve learned throughout the mission. I loved that the first lesson was all about remembering. It’s so important to remember!
– We went out to work with Memo again and he had plenty of creative ideas for us and we had a lot of fun! He gave us some great advice and it was tons of fun. He bought us some pastries afterwards again and they were delicious.
– Walked into a super nice apartment building to the reception table and the guy greeted me with a southern “good afternoon, how you doin’ my man” and I forgot all of my english. I responded 50/50 but got the message across. That was kinda wild
– We had some complications for our planned baptism this past weekend but we have so many amazing friends that want so badly to come closer to Jesus Christ!! Please keep Mariana and Yael in your prayers this week! I can’t wait for a week of good work to see miracles and help them progress!
Yeah! That was about it for the week. We met a few members from other wards, got some more free tacos from Marco, met lots of funny people and got chased by six dogs along the railroad track. Terrifying. Threw lots of rocks, vowed to take the long way next time…
Anyways, it was a great week and it was a joyful week. I am super excited for the miracles that will come soon this transfer!!

Alright, to start it off, hymn #183 is way better in Spanish. We sang it yesterday in preparation to take the sacrament, and two lines brought tears to my eyes. Here is my best translation since it’s way better in Spanish, sorry it doesn’t rhyme:
May we be numbered at Thy table, oh Lord,
Remembering again Thy love for the sinner.
I am so grateful that the Lord loves me, no matter how much of a sinner I am. I am so amazed by the gift of forgiveness, of peace, of comfort, and of hope as we try to come back and come closer to our Savior.
Which, reminds me of an amazing scripture I read this week. Oh man, there is so much amazing stuff to learn that the Savior teaches us in 3rd Nephi, but here’s something I especially loved this week that goes along with that hymn. From 3rd Nephi 17, verse 17:
“And no tongue can speak, neither can there be written by any man, neither can the hearts of men conceive so great and marvelous things as we both saw and heard Jesus speak; and no one can conceive of the joy which filled our souls at the time we heard him pray for us unto the Father.”
Oh I wish sometimes we could truly understand the pure and perfect love that the Savior has for us. He prayed and prays for us. He wants so badly for us to come back. He loves our repentance. He loves our efforts. He loves our weaknesses and will make us stronger.
This week as I thought back across my whole 22ish months as a missionary and thought about the three biggest things that the Lord has taught me as a missionary, its that. There is nothing that can seperate me, or us, or anyone, from the love of the Savior. He was cursed, spat upon, beat, screamed at, humiliated, and wounded until humiliating death. Even after all we do to misuse, forget, hate, ignore, or mistreat the Savior and His perfect Atonement, He still forgives us. He still loves us.
I love Him and want so badly to be more like Him. I am so grateful for His perfect love for me and the joy He offers as we take small (even wobbly, or uncertain) steps back to Him. Nothing else brings us joy like He does. Nothing else is more important. Only He and our families are the things that last for eternity.
Remember Him. Show Him your love and gratitude for His relentless, tireless, unfailing love. He reaches out to you. Are you reaching out to Him?
Determine your why. Design your how. Choose your goals, align your priorities, and decide now what steps you’ll take in this instant to get there. Like Elder Holland said, there really is hope and happiness ahead. Lots of it! Remember, the joy we all seek only comes from one person. How will you focus your life on Him?
Anyways, I just feel so much joy this week and so much joy today for my Savior’s love. Life would be so dreary and scary without it!
I love YOU so much too!! I really do pray for you, I hope you know that. Sometimes I go off on prayer rants and pray for as many people as I can possibly think of. I hope you know that you are on that list ๐ and that you are loved!
Go make it a great week. Go find joy! Go find love from your Savior, show love back to Him, and spread that love to literally everyone around you! You have more power to change lives than you think!
I love you!
