Que rollo tilín!
What is going on! How have you been? I hope the week has been splendid, full of joy and cheap tacos and lotsss of mountain biking. What a great combo.
It was a great week, full of joy and super cheap tacos, and no mountain biking, but plenty of preaching of the gospel!!
🇲🇽
– Homeless guy from last week keeps breaking in, so now there is a bike lock on the gate and a security guard. After he stole some pants, broke into tje bishops office, scared the sisters a second time and bathed in the baptismal font, a big strong scary guy came and chased him out and promised “consequences” if he broke in again. Fun stuff!
– The storm drain (which also happens to be the office sewage drain) overflowed on Friday and made a big stinky pond in the grass between the church and the office. Lets just say it is very well fertilized!!
– Went on exchanges with Elder Wetzel back in Casas Alemán. Mega deja vu since I have been with Elder Wetzel and in Casas, just not at the same time. It was a super fantastic day, we invited literally everyone to Sacrament Meeting, extended a bunch of baptismal dates and had a great time! He is an elite missionary and it was just so fun. Afterwards, we stopped by Taquería “ESTA BUENÍSIMO” and got 10 tacos and a glass bottle Pepsi for 95 pesos. No better way to end any day!
– We went to the temple to do baptisms with Arturo on Saturday and it was so much fun!! He had a great time and the Spirit was so strong, and he is a good baptizer! I love the temple!
– Also went back to Valle Ceylan on exchanges , I went with Elder Tennyson and saw a few converts, taught a ton of people and also invited everyone to Sacrament Meeting!! That is such a good area just full of so much potential. I loved it!
– Had DL Training and First Week in the Mission meetings this week and we organized some practices, it went super well! There are just so many great missionaries and I learn from them every time and I love to see their diligence and hard work. This is such an amazing work!
Anyways, a little shorter this week. It was great!! I am excited for a new week to come full of exciting stuff!
📚
Alma is a dope person and also a dope book of Scripture. I learned a lot this week from two lines that were mentioned twice this week. Here they are:
“their hearts had been changed; that they had no more desire to do evil.” (19:33)
And the next verse builds off that…
“Now they, after being sanctified by the Holy Ghost, having their garments made white, being pure and spotless before God, could not look upon sin save it were with abhorrence; and there were many, exceedingly great many, who were made pure and entered into the rest of the Lord their God.” (13:12)
Whoa. That is some great stuff. That’s the kind of discipleship I strive to have, and really that the Lord desires that we develop too. The people were so wholly converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and more specifically, to Him, that even the thought of returning to previous sins, or mistakes, or evils, wasn’t interesting. It wasn’t just not desireable, it was gross, detestable, abhorrent.
Satan is never going to stop tempting us, but we can overcome him through Christ. We can become changed beings through Him to the point that returning to our previous mistakes is so far from our minds that the very thought is distasteful. What a great life goal!!
So, how are you going to change your heart this week? What are you going to do to make yourself pure? Set a goal, make plans, and start now to get it done. Point yourself in the right direction and start working. Get it done!
I love you so dang much and I hope you have a fantastic, amazing, and joyful week. Go change the world and change your heart!
Talk soon, I love you!
