All Nighter

Que tal amigasos!!

Oh come on, who thought I had actually missed a week writing my email? President moved our pday to today just for this week, don’t worryyy!

Anyways, it was a great week! I hope you are all doing fantastically well. Sorry for the delay for what be a short emails, but, here it is!

✨️

– On Tuesday we went to the temple with President and Sister Brady! Wow, the temple is a seriously amazing place. Every time that I put myself to try and learn or capture something from there, I absolutely do, and this past time I certainly did! I love the temple! Go to the temple this next week with a specific question or principle you want to learn. He works miracles in His home!

– We went on intercambios and I stayed here with Elder Reyes! It was a tonnn of fun and we saw so many miracles! We were talking to an elderly couple who wasn’t interested (super friendly though!) and asked us to visit some of their neighbors that needed some help. So, we did! We knocked a door and when she asked who we were, yelled “the missionaries!” and she said “I knew it!!” Crazy miracle, she had talked to missionaries in the past but lost contact in the pandemic and had been considering coming back ever since! She wants us to come visit her and her whole family and teach them about the Gospel! God is constantly in this work!

– We had our first couple real lessons with Ivana finally and the Spirit was absolutely working in all those lessons, and accepted a baptismal date for this Sunday!! Please, say some extra prayers for Ivana this week! The ward members loveee her and she loves the ward, its been amazing to see the Spirit work in her life but also to see the members of the ward absolutely bring them in to the family. She loves the Gospel and loves the Book of Mormon and her baptism this Sunday will be an unbelievable miracle!

– We had all five elders that are heading home this transfer stay at our house last night, including some of the missionaries that have most influenced my mission. Wow, that was really hard to say bye to all them, those are some amazing people and the mission is going to be different without them. None of us slept more than 40 minutes last night, most of us hit the all nighter, but it was so good to spend the last night with some amazing missionaries. I love them. I’ll see them all soon 🥹

Other than that it was a mellow week. Transfer calls are tomorrow night! Went on the roof of our apartment building, taught English class, played ping pong and foosball at the institute building, and did my best to get in some great studies!

📖

I finished First Nephi early this week. I used to think that the whole book was fine but overused because most folk only got that far in the Book. But man do I take that back, I constantly forget what a great example Nephi is and the amazing revelation and doctrine he teaches!!

This week I particularly liked chapter 17, so here’s a couple parts that stuck out to me!

“Behold, the Lord esteemeth all flesh in one; he that is righteous is favored of God.”

Pretty simple, really good. Here’s a great example of how that same righteousness favored Nephi:

“If God had commanded me to do all things I could do them.

And now, if the Lord has such great power, and has wrought so many miracles among the children of men, how is it that he cannot instruct me, that I should ___________ (build a ship)?”

Fill in that blank! THAT is the attitude that helps us find the love of God. His love is always there, it’s constant. It’s like a campfire. Whether or not we choose to stay close to the fire (doing what He asks) or head to the tent, His love is always there. We can find and feel His favor when we do what He asks!

The Lord will require hard things of you in this life, and maybe even constantly. Keeping the commandments is hard. But, anything that the Lord will ever require of you will never be impossible. Remember, if He has such great power, why couldn’t He ask you to build your own boat? You can truly do anything He commands you if you choose righteousness!!

This week, remember that your Heavenly Father absolutely always loves you. That campfire can never be extinguished. Sometimes we do things that don’t allow us to feel that love as well, but its always there! Choose to find it this week by cheerfully and righteously doing whatever the Lord will require of you!

And remember, and never forget, I love you too! I am always hoping that you have an amazing week. Choose this week to find joy in the little, simple miracles. Be the little, simple miracle in someone else’s day!

I love you so much!! Talk soon!
