Hey hey amigos que tal!
It’s been a good week once again, it’s been a fast week and it’s already transfers news again tomorrow. What! Given that its super likely that my companion and I get separated, I at least hope I get to stay in Valle Ceylán!
Anyways, we will see what happens here soon, until then I’ll tell you about what happened this past week!
✨️
– We made a video for the mission Facebook page and I think it probably took us 1000 tries to say the scripted paragraph. Yeesh. I do not have a future as a content creator, sorry to all those who were winging it on riding along my famous future, sorry Jared West.
– We walked by a garage sale that some members were selling before they sold their old house they hadn’t lived in for a few years. They gave me some suuuuper sweet free dress shoes, even though I insisted on paying they insisted they just wanted to get rid of the stuff. May God bless that great family 🙏
– We had the house deep cleaning day yesterday, we were going nuts and one thing led to another and pretty soon I was unscrewing the pipes to the bathroom and then the kitchen sinkn to scrap out with a fork whatever substance had been wafting through the drain that stunk so bad. Nearly threw up, absolutely singed off my nostril hairs, but the sink smells simply delicious. I think we emptied the whole bottle of Mighty Mango Febreeze throughout the house afterwards. ¡¡Guácala!!
– Elyde got baptized!! Holy cow, I don’t know if you all remember when I told the story a few weeks ago about the random thought to go knock on her door, but wow, there are so many miracles in missionary work. She wrote us each a thank you note including her testimony and I can promise you all that the Lord changes people when they let Him. Unbelievable experience, God lives, and His hand is present in missionary work. So proud of Ely!!
– We had Ward Conference on Sunday which was so awesome, everyone showed up to Ely’s baptism plusss there was food afterward! Someone brought a speaker so we ate cochinita pibil while listening to salsa, I’d say it was an absolutely fantastic Sunday and this ward is just so much fun!! I love it here!
– 12 missionaries went home today and 17 come in tomorrow, President told us to expect some crazy things at transfers so we will see what happens 🤞 come on 2 more Valle Ceylan!!
– A family of 3 that came to church for their second Sunday in a row absolutely LOVED it and accepted the invitation to get baptized this Sunday! Such miracles guys! Please keep Liliana, Ashby, and Alan in your prayers for this Sunday!!
– Logan, my stinkier and shorter younger brother 🤪 turned 18 on Sunday WHATTT! Happy birthday dude, I love you so much!
It was an amazing week, it went by so fast!!
📖
Man, I just love the Book of Mormon. I don’t really understand how you can read it so many times and always get stuff out of it, but I guess that’s just more proof that it comes from God!
This week I went and read the fun little Jacob Enos Jarom Omni section of the BoM and loved it, especially these verses in Enos 1:
“I must preach and prophesy unto this people, and declare the word according to the truth which is in Christ. And I have declared it in all my days, and have rejoiced in it above that of the world.
And I soon go to the place of my rest, which is with my Redeemer; for I know that in Him I shall rest. And I rejoice in the day when my mortal shall put on immortality, and shall stand before Him; then shall I see His face with pleasure, and He will say unto me: Come unto me, ye blessed, there is a place prepared for you in the mansions of my Father.”
Now that I think of it, I may have shared that one before, but I think its worth sharing again. I think those words should kind of be the life goal for each of us! At least in my case, those are the words I hope to be able to say, and the words I hope to hear, when all is said and done.
So, since there’s not much to add to a scripture as clear and powerful as that, my invitation this week is to take a step and make a decision today to preach the truth everyday, and make it a greater priority than the things of the world. Remember, there is nothing that can overcome, ruin, or break the determination of a decided soul. Make your decision today, and make it again everyday, and choose the words you will hear at the end of this life. Decide your goal today, and make a plan to get there. A goal without a plan is a dream. A determined soul requires constant action. Act, and act now, and choose good!
I love you all so dang much, and yes, I’m still praying for you. Go make it a fantastic week and go change somebody’s life! There is someone that is waiting for YOU 🫵 so go make it happen captain.
Talk soon cuates! Hasta El lunes
Elder Crockett ❤️
