What’s up folks!!
I’m out of time once more so I’ll make this one quick. Fantastic week, I love this area and my comp is so much fun and I love being a missionary! Today hit one year since my calling as a missionary officially started so that’s actually crazy, this is going by so fast and it makes me sad but also makes me motivated to get working! Anywho, here’s how my week went!
✨️ Highlights
– We had our first Zone Conference with President and Sister Brady and it was very different and very good. I gave a talk about President Nelson’s latest talk, Confidence in the Presence of God, I think it went well but I probably talked too fast and made few too many comments about bikes.
– Both the baptisms we were hoping for this week fell through which made me so sad but the good news is we have the potential to get 7 people to baptism this week! But they need a ton of prayers to make sure to remember Aisha, Adriana, Jetro, Montserrat, Hugo, Maritza, and Alfonzo in your prayers please!! Miracles are so unreal guys, lots of hope and excitement for this weekend!
– We went over to a members house and he gave us root beer and various American snacks. It made me super happy and he even told us about the latest updates in Jared West’s very mediocre Vikings NFL team.
– Two gigantic spiders set up spider webs in front of our doors every night, and I am certain there is no feeling worse than getting a web plastered across your face. Man, I hate that, and after night’s of being furious we finally found the things and I killed them with a bottle of Lysol Fresh Linen spray. Sorry, not sorry, those things were huge and fuzzy and had ferocious fangs.
– MLC was super cool and we kind of changed the way we had the meeting, we read a lot in the scriptures and it was so good! And, the hot dogs were super delicious
– This lady from Campeche that we are teaching gave us these weird fruits that were super soggy. They tasted and had the same texture of the wet spot in the dirt when you spit on the trail while riding and drinking Riptide Rush Gatorade. Go drink some, go on a hard bike ride, spit onto your bike frame and eat it off, and you’ve just eaten a guaya. I know it’s gross but it’s also deadly accurate.
📖 Scriptures!
Well in my talk this week in Zone Conference I was thinking a lot about how we can grow our confidence before our Heavenly Father. President Nelsom mentions how it consists of growing in charity and virtue, which made me think about how we could become more Christlike people! Well luckily my scripture study aligned really nice with that.
I love this scripture from Helaman 3, verse 35:
“Nevertheless they did fast and pray oft, and did wax stronger and stronger in their humility, and firmer and firmer in the faith of Christ, unto the filling their souls with joy and consolation, yea, even to the purifying and the sanctification of their hearts, which sanctification cometh because of their yielding their hearts unto God.”
Anyways, in my talk thing I mentioned a little bit about keeping and magnifying baptismal and temple covenants with our Heavenly Father, which is exactly what those people did! Tell me that’s not conversion little by little. They waxed stronger and stronger, firmer and firmer…it’s a process that goes little by little throughout life. It’s not all at once, but it starts now!
We can put more confidence in God and earn more of His confidence as we make, keep, and magnify covenants with Him. We can let His plan become our plan and watch as He works miracles in our life. We can become more Christlike, through Christ, and be happier, better, perfected and sanctified people! So, do it!
Well you guys are all the best, I love you and miss you all tons! Go make it a great week, go make the most of your summer, and go try a homemade Guaya and let me know what you think.
Hablaremos aquí pronto vatos y vatas, cuídense mucho y recuerden que estén en mis oraciones siempre!
I love you all!
