Cats Round 2

Hola tipos y tipas!

Que dicen! How did everyone’s week go! I hope everyone is doing so well and that the weather has been fantastic and the bike trails are hero dirt.

We had a great week here and I love Valle Ceylán and there are so many miracles! Feeling fantastic this week but I’m out of time so I’ll make it quick.

✨️ Highlights:

– This past Wednesday I went to the immigration office to get my residency card renewed with all the other missionaries with a year in the mission. We got Costco hot dogs and chicken bakes and while we had to wait for the office to rescan and reprint our passport copies (thank a lot secretaries) we went and explored Museo Soumaya, so that was cool! Felt unproductive but now we are all legal so it was pretty fun!

– Immigration day was Elder Nye’s birthday so we got to celebrate a little bit and the good news is that all of the dairy products that the members gave him to celebrate, he didn’t want to eat them so I ate some gooood stuff.

– Went to the temple today and it was up there with some of the most spiritual experiences I’ve ever had. Wow, the temple is very literally the House of the Lord and you guys all gotta go there and and feel the Lord’s love for you!

– We have 9 people on baptismal date right now, please throw up your prayers for Valle Ceylán! Miracles are coming left and right!

– I finally fixed my pants that got ripped on a motorcycle an entire transfer ago. Man I missed my pants

– A mom and daughter we are teaching taught us to make some Arabian salad thing and while it involved way too many tomatoes and cucumbers it was still pretty tasty so I’ll give them some credit.

– We had an amazing experience with a phone call with a couple missionaries and I saw them cry for other missionaries because they just wanted to help them so bad. Actually changed my perspective entirely as a missionary and hit me really hard. I gotta be a nicer and more loving dude

– Some missionaries didn’t want to give us a reference that lived in our area so we offered to trade them a cat we had scruffed that started following us around all night.

Well it was a great week and I’ll have to leave you hanging with something a little shorter this week. We had an absolute ton of miracles at the church again this week, we had so many friends come to church and they are all progressing really well! Heavenly Father is blessing us so much this week and it has been so cool to see! I love being a missionary!

📖 Scripture

President Brady has been helping us focus on teaching people that they, and everyone, is very literally a child of God. How cool is that! It reminded me from one of my favorite CS Lewis quotes from The Weight of Glory:

“It is a serious thing to live in a society of possible gods and goddesses, to remember that the dullest, most uninteresting person you talk to may one day be a creature which, if saw it now, you would be strongly tempted to worship, or else a horror and a corruption such as you now meet, if at all, only in a nightmare. All day long we are, in some degree, helping each other to one or the other of these destinations. It is in the light of these overwhelming possibilities, it is with the awe and the circumspection proper to them, that we should conduct all of our dealings with one another, all friendships, all loves, all play, all politics. There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilizations-these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit-immortal horrors or everlasting splendors.”

We all will become one of those two things, and the things we do every day is what impact which one we are heading towards! The small, simple, daily things are the things that change the long run. Protect the private times of life!

My invitation this week would be the same from Doctrine and Covenants 81: 5-6:

“Wherefore, be faithful; stand in the office which I have appointed unto you; succor the weak, lift up the hands which hang down, and strengthen the feeble knees.

And if thou art faithful unto the end thou shalt have a crown of immortality, and eternal life in the mansions which I have prepared in the house of my Father.”

Do it! The blessings are so so worth it and God’s promises are eternal and will always be fulfilled. Go make it a great week this week, serve others, be faithful, go to the temple, protect the private times of life, and do the things every day that will bring you eternal life!

I love you all so much, you are welcome for keeping it quicker! Don’t forget that you are in my prayers and that I love you all!

Talk soon!
