Miracle Week

Que onda!

What’s up everyone! How is everyone doing this week! Hope it’s been going great and hope you know I’ve been praying for you!! I’ll try to keep it quick again today because it’s been hectic today so here you go with the highlights…

✨️

– This week went by so fast and the Spirit was so strong all week! I love missionary work so fast and it is absolutely flying by it’s been so fun so anyways…

– We had our first interviews with President Brady on Thursday and it was different and it was also super good! I loved talking to Sister Brady too and she gifted us a free jar of nutella 🥹 and it’s been delish

– We got fed some soup from these friendly folks that sell food outside our house on Saturdays and Sundays and the soup we got was a broth of all the parts of the pig they had leftover that they didn’t sell. Mannnn I don’t know what spices or who knows what they put in there to cover up what was probably a pretty nasty broth but it tasted like eating a really salty rubber tire. Yuuuuum!

– Well our hopes for 6 baptisms the last weekend fell through 🙁 but we had 1!! And it has been SUCH a cool experience. Miracles are so real! One day we were just walking towards the house for lunch from the house of a recent convert and we randomly decided to knock a door. This super nice lady came out and talked to us a little bit, and told us she would love if we passed by another day to talk with her daughter to help her get closer to God, and we were like heck yes! Anyways, the first week, and 3 weeks in a row Adriana and her daughter Aisha came to church and absolutely loved it. The whole experience has been so fun to watch, it’s amazing to see people change for the better! Adriana called us one day in the morning during our studies and asked to talk, and said something along these lines in her perfect English:

Guys, I just want to thank you for following God and being missionaries because I’ve been praying for a miracle like this but didn’t know it’d be you. I’ve tried to raise my daughter to pray and go to church for years and she always did it for obligation, but then you two came along and now we always pray before we eat and leave the house, and she loves going to the church and now she wants to be baptized! I never would have believed it. I know God sent you to change our lives, because she will be able to change and be baptized right before she starts college. Thank you for doing it and for helping us. From the deepest part of my heart, thank you for changing my daughters life.

Well that made me cry, and I cried again when they started crying one night when we shared our testimonies, and cried again when they both cried in Aisha’s baptism. Adriana hasn’t gotten baptized yet but she’s starting to decide she wants to so please keep her in your prayers! Watching them change their lives has been unreal and it’s actually been an emotional experience to watch. 3 weeks from obligatory prayers to sharing your testimony, asking to be baptized, and wanting to serve a mission, wow. God still works miracles.

So yeah! It’s been a great week and it’s been a kind of emotional week too and I have loved it so much. Praying for miracles again with our friends, and I hope they can make it to baptism with us soon!! People’s lives can truly be changed through Christ and it is pretty unbelievable to watch. I love being a missionary.

📖

Alright, I’ll keep this quick. I was reading in Alma again this week and I have always loved the chapters where he talks to his sons and gives them kind of his final advice in Alma 42:

“Therefore, O my son, whosoever will come may come and partake of the waters of life freely.”

I also loved reading in Matthew 10 this week, where Jesus sends out His apostles to the ministry. Here’s what He says!

“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

I think that is some fantastic advice! The world us a rough place so we need to actively doing the good things and protecting ourselves from all the junk.

Okay just one more verse to knock it home:

“And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.”

You know what, following Jesus is not going to be something easy. It’ll actually be super hard. But, what the world says or demands of us does not at all matter compared to what our Heavenly Father thinks of us! We will be hated for Jesus’s name, but if we bear it we’ll we will be saved!

And I think thats pretty cool. So I’d say, this week stand up for the Savior! Don’t fear what the world thinks, but fear what Satan can do to destroy you when you aren’t on Jesus’s side. Everyone is welcome to feel of Jesus’s love, we just have to chose it! So choose to stand up for what is good this week, defend Christ, and you’ll see blessing and get eternal life. Del dicho al hecho hay mucho trecho pero vale la pena amigos! I promise its so worth it!

Well I sure do love and miss you all and I hope you know it. And I hope you are having a great week! Go make the rest of this week the best yet and go make someone’s day, because everyone’s day needs to be made by someone. Be that one!

You are in my prayers, don’t forget it! I love you all!!
