Transfers and vaccines

Que hubo everyone!!

I hope everyone has had a great week full of some fantastic miracles! I feel like this last week was one of the craziest in my mission, but since I’m sick and have hardly left bed all day, I’ll keep it pretty quick for you!

✨️

– We had transfers on Thursday and I left Valle Ceylán! So bittersweet, what a great ward. I moved to Montevideo 3 with Elder Nielson and it has been a crazy few days. It’s really small, but finally I get a little bit of hill in my area! Yes!

– We got vaccinated on Thursday and I am still scared as ever of shots. Man, that’s gotta give plenty of people second hand embarrassment just watching me squirm. Yeesh. But, I got the shot, and now I’ve been constantly throwing up. Maybe they gave me the real flu? Or maybe it was some tacos right outside our house? Who’s to say

– I’m in the only house in the mission that has 4 missionaries. It’s been a ton of fun and it’s been crazy. We have a washer and a dryer! It was pretty dirty when we first got here, but I think my companion was sick of being home all day today (sorry for robbing your P Day Elder Nielson) and absolutely deep cleaned it. Now this house is even better.

– My last Zone (the Tlalnepantla Stake) is getting kicked out of the mission next July!! Since the church is going to open the Tula mission, the Mexico City North mission is going to lose a lot of real estate so we are gifting them that whole stake. Darn, that’s actually pretty sad!

– Elder Brik V. Eyre, a General Authority Seventy who spoke in the last General Conference, came and spoke at the Lindavista stake conference on Saturday and Sunday!! Afterwards, he rushed down to us and joined us for a lesson with one of our friends in teaching. That was both a very powerful and ver stressful thing to do. That man is a spiritual giant. Afterwards we were talking a little bit and he knows a few people from the Bonneville stake so we took a picture! Wow, it was a super cool experience and the Spirit was so strong in the conference and in the lesson. Great guy!

So, why not snag a quote from his talk in General Conference?

📖

I loved Elder Eyre’s talk in Conference and how he focused on understanding who we really are. What’s the best way to understand that we are literally children of our Heavenly Father? By understanding who Heavenly Father is in the first place!

“As we come to know ‘him who is mighty to save,’ we will come to understand that we, as children of God, are His joy—His most important focus—and we are indeed each worth saving.”

I love that quote and it’s so so true. I have learned so much about who I really am while I have been a missionary because I have had so much time to study who God is and what His plan is like.

“Regardless of where we are on our path of discipleship, our lives will fundamentally change if we better understand who we really are.”

That is just so true. You are literally a child of God! He loves you, He worries about you, and He has a plan to bring you back to Him.

Well, I’m going to go back to sleep or maybe convince myself to get out of bed and shower. Haven’t decided which one sounds more appealing yet. Anyways, I hope you all have an amazing week, I hope you come to understand who you truly are, and I hope you remember that I love you!

Go make it a great week and find a couple small acts of service to brighten someone else’s life! I love you tons!

Talk soon,

Elder Crockett ❤️
