Itching The Scratch

Good afternoon cuates!

Que onda! I hope you are all doing well and you’ve had a great week and some desired race results for those of you doing NICA! Good job! Keep it up!

Well I am once again pretty short on time but I’m feeling fantastic and locked in so let’s get this thing done! Hope everyone is doing awesome!

✨️

– Ate fried chicken foot. Who knew there was substance on a chickens feet other than bone and sharp talons?? Not me! Tendons do not taste good, and neither does the rest of the stuff you chew off of it. Don’t want to find out, didn’t ask!

– Played football a few mornings with the ward instead of basketball, heckkk yeah that was so so fun!

– We brought 3 families to church which was a huge miracle and it was sooo cool! I love church and I love taking the Sacrament!!

– We finallyyyyy went to the pyramid that sits right outside our house, it was actually super cool and the history was dope! It took us way too long but it was sweet and it was frrrreeeeeeee!

– We found 3 kittens abandoned on Sunday morning as we walked along the river. We decided to rescue them and offer them up to adoption and a recent convert accepted!! New home for 3 little cats, and man did those things meow so loudly

– I did what Jared West wouldn’t have done and got the double-microscruff on the kittens. Check that one off the bucket list!

– MLC yesterday was super fun and the style is so different but so good! We will change our pdays to Monday starting the 29th, just so you all know, so that’ll be exciting

– We had interviews with President Brady and it went so well. I shared Mosiah 26: 23-24 and I would highly recommend you all go give it a read, it is SO good!!

– Today I FINALLY scratched a 13 month itch and we went on a hike in the hills which had amazing views, lots of trees and quietness, a waterfall, and a little tower we went to the top of. Holy cow, that was a highlight and I will absolutely be going back as soon as possible. If anyone ever wants a tour to the Cerro de Tlalayote, ask me instead of the witch lady that offered us to stay in her cabin out in the woods.

Told you I’d make it fast!! It was an amazing week! I can’t believe we got to go hikeeee

📖

I loved Doctrine and Covenants section 98 this week, and I think these verses are very applicable to life these days!

“And I give unto you a commandment, that ye shall forsake all evil and cleave unto all good, that ye shall live by every word which proceedeth forth out of the mouth of God.

For he will give unto the faithful line upon line, precept upon precept; and I will try you and prove you herewith.

And whoso layeth down his life in my cause, for my name’s sake, shall find it again, even life eternal.”

I love that. Every word. Cleave. Those are some good words!! The expectations are exceptionally high, but so is Christ’s mercy. Do anything you can to cling to His words and, whether it be laying down bad habits, laying down pride, laying down hurtful words or selfishness or whatever it might be, even your life, the sacrafice is worth the blessing, 100 percent of the time. And 100 times worth it. So, lay down whatever your thing is that is preventing you from being closer to your Savior, and He promises you eternal life. That is some absolute amazing stuff.

Go give that section a read and let me know what you think! I love the comfort it provides but the expectations it sets. Renounce war and proclaim peace! Focus on the good! Be diligent, be patient, accept the chastising of the Lord, and above all, take and make efforts to get closer to your Savior, because at the end of the day what He expects and asks is your heart, not (yet) your perfection. He doesn’t ask the impossible, so do everything that is possible for you to grow closer to Him and find the real and lasting joy, peace, and power that you need!! Do it!

I love you all so much amigos!! You are always in my prayers, now go make this a great week and find some joy out there!

Hasta la otra, banda ❤️
