Walked On Real Dirt

Que lo que amigos!!

Well I’m low on time again this week but mannnn it was an awesome week! Hope you are all doing so well and that you’ve loved your summer, I’ll try and make this quick so I can get it out in time! Don’t forget I love you all!

✨️

– Went on divisions with Elder Ward this week and we bonded tons, he is an amazing missionary and such a funny guy! We had a lesson up in the top of the little hill in their area and we had to do a small hike to get up there on actual real dirt (!!) and I enjoyed every moment of it. Great missionary and we had great times

– the oneeeee day my phone said it wouldn’t rain I was like yessss I don’t have to carry my rain jacket or umbrella and I was so excited! And it absolutely dumped on us and no one wanted to open the door and I don’t think I couldn’t been more wet if I had jumped Jared West’s fictional pool. But hey, that hot shower once we got home was something else

– There’s this evil dog in our house that our owner lets roam free named Lobo and it always eats our trash, uses the bathroom in front of our door, and bites my hand. I’ve had it up to here with Lobo and I think I’m going to kick him to teach him a lesson while our owners not looking.

– Just finished what may have been the fastest transfer in my mission yet. We will find out what happens tomorrow night, here’s to hoping that Elder Nye and I will stay together because it has been so much fun!! Fingers crossedddd

– We spoke in church on Sunday since the people chosen to speak from the Stake didn’t show up, so I was given a surprise 20 minutes to finish off the meeting. Luckily, I hit the time mark perfect and even teared up a little bit during my testimony about sharing the gospel at the end (I don’t know why the mission has made me so emotional?) and made a couple old ladies cry so I’d call it a win! I actually loved speaking!

– We try not to stay up too late but we have had some super fun late night conversations just about life and I absolutely love being a missionary and love the gospel and its been amazing!

– We had so many friends show up to church and it was such a miracle, they loved it and there is seriously unlimited potential in this area and I am so excited!!

– Alfonso got baptized!! After going through so many hard things and trying so hard to get baptized, and after a transfer in teaching, he made it to baptism and he was SO happy and cried, which made me cry a little bit too. He was so excited and felt so at peace and I just can say that the gospel of Jesus Christ changes lives. Congratulations Alfonso, I don’t know how you did it while going through so much stuff but man, he has such a strong testimony and I am SO proud of him. Amazing man.

📖

Jumping right in! I have loved reading more in the New Testament this week and kind of jumping around. I love Matthew 6:

It’s a famous one! Verses 19-21

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

It’s so true! There are lots of important and fun things in life but at the end of the day, think about what we bring with us. The people we’ve become, our families, our morals, our beliefs. Not the cars or bikes or Legos or trophies or whatever! Good, wholesome, fun stuff, but don’t forget to have a balance in all things and to focus on prioritizing your treasures in heaven! Make God your priority.

And that’s my invitation for the week. I hope it’s an amazing week full of so many miracles and so many fun things and that you make the most of it! You CAN make it a great week, so do it! I love you all so much, don’t forget you are always in my prayers, and take care out there!

Talk soon, I love you all!
